Kids Blues Workshops - Come Play Ukulele
Kids Blue Workshops evolved several years ago when members of the BlueSkillet Rovers were asked by the Broadbeach Blues Festival, to hold workshops for Primary Schools on the Gold Coast, to inspire a love of Blues Music.
Since then, the interactive workshops have been popular at a variety of festivals, including the Gympie Muster, Village Blues and Woodford Folk Festival.
The workshops are of an informative performance style, which engages children (& adults), encouraging them to participate in a Semi Structured Blues Jam.
Participants explore instruments such as washboards, t-chest bass, kazoos and a wealth of percussive items. Certificates of participation are presented and there are souvenir type products available to purchase.
Come Play Ukulele, is a beginner's workshop for Ukulele enthusiasts of any age. Miss Jodie boasts over 20 years of experience as a Primary School Music Teacher and brings her teaching skills and collection of Ukuleles to share with participants.
Jodie’s primary belief is that “EVERYONE CAN PLAY MUSIC” and that the Ukulele is the perfect place to start!
Starting with one chord everyone will feel a sense of achievement in just a short while. With two or three chords under their belt, participants will be happily jamming together.
These are workshops are held in schools and have been conducted at Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues Festival, The Spruke Ukulele Festival and have also been adapted for Kids Parties.
